Right so as silly as i sound, i have managed to fiddle with something which has resulted in a fuel guage failure. I was trying to remove the pillion footpegs (the whole unit) which required most of the back panneling to be removed (back light tail tidy) and a few other bits. I didnt even manage to get remove the pegs as some of the bolts had nuts on the inside of the bike under the fuel tank. I can only assume but trying to remove the bolts i may have caught the fuel sender wire and loosened it from the tank.
I was just wondering if anybody knows or has had any experience stripping this model and could give me some advice. Il be back at triumph for the 500mile service so if its not sorted by then il have to mention it to them and theyll fix it.
Thanks in advance, and yes before you say i am a PILLOCK!

Hi Matt, you may find that the plug you're seeing is in fact part of anti pollution system that is fitted for the California market only. I had the same on my Bonny.

Would be a good idea - as DD says - to check out all your fuses as well.

I'm a compulsive fiddler too. Broken almost everything I've owned over the years then learned the hard way how it works!
I ain't as bad as I used to be though and now I do usually buy the appropriate manual before I get started these days.
"The only reliable evidence of learning is a change in behaviour" apparently?

Yeah I got abit excited and couldn't wait for somebody who knew what they were doing, learnt my lesson definitely won't be doing any more fiddling on my own.. glad I have the 2 year manufacturers warranty if I can't find a solution though!

Matt, I do not recall lift my fuel tank to remove the rear pegs assemblies. Yes, You need to remove the rear side panels but not the tail tidy. I am thinking it is a fuse mate.

I'm borrowing a 16 plate Street triple r ( feckin awesome btw!) and the fuel gauge is buggered lol. Low fuel light on, pulled up to garage, 7 quid and it topped out. Was full to the brim! Maybe a more common issue?
    Hope it's sorted soon!

Possibly! Somebody else mentioned if I had gone for a ride to which I replied no, they said theirs had done the same but once they were out and about it was OK so it's an excuse to go for a spin tonight hopefully not in the rain!

My 2011 Speed Triple manual states the gauge will only go up gradually when riding.....
