Evening gents! I’m close to being a new Triumph owner. Problem is... I’m not sure which one yet. I saw the new speed RS at a moto show a couple weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it. Sparks flew, my heart raced as I admired what I believe to be the sexiest bike I’ve seen. Sounds like I made up my mind doesn’t it? Well...I haven’t. The smaller yet daring striple looks almost as good and sounds amazing! I currently ride a soulless 2015 BMW F800R. It was my first bike and let’s just say I didn’t know any better... looking for a little more excitement. Test drives are going to happen soon. Waiting for the snow to go! Cheers
Hi n welcome I think you should ride both bikes on the sort of roads that you would normally ride on as they are very different.
You'll soon work it out when you do the demo rides They are two similar but different bikes to ride, one revs and rides like a loon and the other is (relatively) more relaxed* but has the grunt of King Kong. Only advice I'd give is, as your new to riding, the Street is probably better in that the power low down to mid range is a little less forceful and easier to use normally, but the 7-8,000rpm+ giggle factor is there when you need it. The Speed is just grunt all the way, which is great, but could catch you out as a new rider. Which one you like/want will also depend on your personal riding preference but they're both great bikes, so you can't lose ! *That may change with the new RS engine
Hi Luke & Welcome, All very sensible advise already given above but I am totally biased so go with the Street RS & don't get the black one! TBH after the B*W (can't name check the German brand on here) you will think you're in heaven on either of the Trumpets!
Don't listen to him! The 765 is really a training bike for those who aspire to a Speed ! oh and don't get a matt coloured one of any sort....!
Street is fine if you're a girl................ but make it a black one, whichever you get. Welcome in.
**update** Got to take a gorgeous street triple rs out for a ride today! I was lucky enough that the dealer let me take it for a whole afternoon I was blown away by this screaming, asphalt chewing rev monster! Man it’s fun!! I giggled and laughed for most of the ride. It’s such a confidence inspiring bike as well. I did a tad over 300km with it and the only complaint would be the seat being a little hard... something you only realize when you’re stopped and the adrenaline subsides Speed rs is next! Delivery is expected second week of May here in Canada and I can’t wait! I’ll keep you guys posted Cheers!
Welcome in. You lucky so and so getting so long on it. Best I get is a couple of hours at the most but then never really ever had anyone say exactly how long either. I noticed in your photos you put your lid on the helmet lock. Personally I never put mine there, too easy for it to be knocked and frankly they aren’t that secure either. Would rather carry it than use that.
