    greetings one and all.

I am seriously thinking of buying a Street Cup. I sat on one a few days ago at my local dealers and found it a great strain keeping my wallet in my pocket just on the basis of it's looks and the fact I can get both feet flat on the floor. But before I take one out for a ride I would welcome any comments from anyone who has already got one.

    thanks in advance

I’ve had mine about a month now and couldn’t be happier. Originally looked at the Twin and started counting up the mods I’d most likely make such as bar end mirrors, seat change to cafe style, handlebar, mini fairing, to name the major ones. Then I finally got to see a Cup in the steel and could see that it was what I really was trying to do all along, plus you get the little sportier suspension, Thruxton style headlight bits, dual clocks, and sportier slip ons. I honestly don’t think I’ll change a thing on mine for quite some time. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I’ve had one for a year (though just traded it last week as part-ex for a Thruxton R). My original decision to buy - it was my first bike - was that it was a sexier version of the Street Twin, which I had decided would be a very sensible first bike.

I really enjoyed riding it. Riding position was good, easy to get feet flat on the floor, better clocks (Twin dials) than the Street Twin, great colour schemes, fabulous sounding engine even with standard pipes.

Traded for the Thruxton for more power and bling, and having done so it is remarkable just how well the Street Cup compares.

However it isn’t selling well, so you should be able to get a very good deal on a nearly new model. For example list price is £8,800, and I got £6,600 as my trade-in with less than 2,000 miles.

I agree with OsteKuste on this. I kicked around the thought of getting the Street Twin but after thinking about the mods I wanted to do to make it look like the Street Cup I made the sensible choice and bought the Street Cup. I love this bike. I have had many, many bikes and this is my favorite in a long while. The power is very usable without being overwhelming but on the other hand you won't find it boring. The suspension is very compliant over these bumpy New England roads and the seat is nice and comfy. I very much want to change the bars to Biltwell's tracker bars and change the front signals to running lights as well as signals, add some bobbins for the rear axle as well as a few other minor things to make it my own. If power is what you are craving TEC bike parts is making a limited edition camshaft that will put the horsepower near the 70 mark and of course there is always the X pipe cat delete and new slip on mufflers which will bring your power to nearly 80hp. Oh and don't listen to Steve and get the black and grey and get in touch with your darker side. lol.
