Well I didn't think I could of done it but I did As the title suggests I challenged myself to the month of October without drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes Hey hey I've only gone and bloody done it Thought I would be irritable I am Thought I would save money I have Thought I would feel better I don't Thought I would maybe keep it up I won't Last drink and smoke I had was when I was in Welsh Wales with wor lass on the last day of September Next drink will be this Friday coming at my local pub with a packet of smokes in my pocket ROLL ON FRIDAY....I CANT WAIT
Hey dilli, my mate did it, he stopped smoking and as a stress relief alternative he bought a Fokking gun!!
Chuck the fags mate thats you clean now I dont miss them 30 years I smoked and if I knew how easy it was to quit I would have years ago. $ grand by next year, that would buy a SPEEDMASTER! Well done.
That's the idea mate But drinking and smoking go hand in hand for me So my plan is to buy 20 cigarettes on a Friday.... and put 10 away for the next Friday(wor lass will hide em) Then use the money I save to go towards the deposit for a new Speedmaster What could possibly go wrong
I'm having guitar lessons through the winter to see if I can do it ...bloody frustrating twanging away in the kitchen every night except Fridays of course
If you ask me now, (as a non smoker) I would say its the cigarette companies that tell us how hard it is stopping.
Oh I can relate to that. There's a pigeon mass grave in my parents garden. From the time, I was ten and got my first airgun. The grave is unmarked though. Being German, I did not want to leave any evidence; well you know... But hey, I was not prejudiced: the pigeons were of every religion, and political background, you could imagine
I started smoking when you could get 5 Park Drive for 1/-, (5p) or 20 No.6 for 3/6d when at school, 3 of us could get the fags, a bap each and share a big bag of chips with our dinner money, I packed smoking in when they hit £1 for 20 Piccadilly/Dunhills, thanks to Maggie Thatcher! Proof that smoking does kill, I'm still 'ere!
Hi BS No need to be sorry mate and I'm sorry to hear about your sister I was 11yrs old when I caught my older sister and her friend smoking To keep me quiet they gave me my first cigarette and kept me supplied so I couldn't grass on them I've been smoking ever since and I'm now 56yrs old even my mother would give me cigarettes to run errands and odd jobs for her By the time I left school I had been smoking for 5yrs and then started working so had money to quite literally burn I'm quite chuffed with myself having gone without for the month but know from past experience that it's all to easy to go back to smoking I have a confession though I've still been getting my nicotine by way of vaping....not ideal but better than smoking...hopefully
