I have not long changed my bike from a triumph rocket 3 to a 54 plate tiger 955i. I need to change the stator and rectifier as they are not charging battery. I watched a couple of YouTube videos on this and seems an easy job but there is a flexible hose (looks like a water hose but it can't be) connected to my stator cover that wasn't in the videos I watched! Can anyone tell me what that hose is?? Thanks
Hi Neil and welcome to the forum good luck finding out if it is a breather. I couldn’t see a hose in the breakout drawings WOT https://www.worldoftriumph.com/collections/bikes/products/tiger-955i-from-vin-124106-to-vin-198874
It's probably the stator output wiring , when it passes through/under the cover , it is enclosed in a rubber tube for a few inches. On some models of Triumph's it can also be part of the ignition system , the timing sensors can be enclosed in the same area....
Neil Black Welcome to the family. Just hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and show of the beastie. And send some closer pictures of the offending pipe. Joe.
Hi Joe, will take close up of the pipe tomorrow. I am not near it at the moment! Here is the bike. View attachment 131580 View attachment 131582 View attachment 131581 View attachment 131582
Hi @neil black , if the hose you are referring to is in the second photo, coming out at one o'clock with yellow tag on it , that is most likely the stator output wiring.
That one looks like a coolant hose ? Does it get hot ??? Or if it doesn't get warm/hot as engine temperature ️ rise's. It maybe a breather hose but most likely a coolant hose.
Well I am going to get into it today so will find out. It really can't be a coolant hose going into stator housing. My guess is a breather.
