I got a 2001 Bonneville with 51,000 miles on it. I put a new coil on it last month as it started miss firing at high revs and it was fine for a while. But starting from cold has got worse. Took the carbs off for a good clean again, checked float height and jets. All clear. Plugs tell me it`s running rich so screwed out pilot air screw 1/4 turn(now 3 turns out) I have a K&N air filter, 115 main jet and 40 pilot jet.
But I`ve recently lost the clock lights, 2 of the idiot lights and now the tacho as well. I know there are broken wires in the small loom from the headlight to the clocks and you can buy it separately from Triumph. But I`m wondering if any of these wires would have anything to do with the carb heaters? Maybe that`s why it`s not starting. I`m about to give up and put it in the shop but I would much rather sort it myself. Any advice?

As far as I know carb heaters are fed off abient temperature sensors that's on side of air box right side if you have air screw out that far it could be to much, try right in softly to bottom then start at 2&1/4 out see how you go.Been looking at service manual not seen anything from carb heaters to headnlight
