Hi, A quick intro before the question! My wife and I are sport bike riders for many years...30 in Venice Beach, CA and Winter Park, CO and the last year in Portland, UK. Currently I have a 2012 Ducati 848 Corse and my wife has a 2024 ZX6R. Yesterday, we returned home from a quick trip through France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. With tears in our eyes both from being sad that our sport bike days are numbered and tears from our neck and shoulders feeling like spikes have been driven through them. We had such envy for any bike we passed that had panneirs. We have narrowed the search to both of us getting Tiger 900's. Maybe new, maybe late model used. Our goal is to keep riding all over Europe as much as we can. Any advice to steer us in the right direction on 2021-2024 900's would be very much appreciated. Thank you! I included a couple of photos from the LeShuttle train ride. View attachment IMG_2831.jpeg
Hi there! Welcome to the forum! You may go for a Tiger 900 GT or GT Pro. There you find useful adons for a smooth biking experience with some comfort extras. My wife and my father in law used each one for some years and we're really happy with them. I would go for a +2022 model if available.
Thanks Markus. What sets the ‘22 and later models apart?
@Shock Yes it is sad when the body disagrees with the bikes. I to found the same scenario. I traded my sprint first for BONNEVILLE then a 675 and on to a 660. and a few Bonneville's between before trying a 400 but it was uninspiring not that its not a great bike but just could not get into it. So i now gone back to a 660. And when i get it back from the dealer i can try it a little more. My only advice to you both is try some more models and see what you feel like. You will know when the right bike for you comes along.
Thank you Bikerman. We are off this week to test ride the Tiger 900 at a dealership in Poole and then later in the week test ride the BMW F800. We might also have a look at the Ducati Multistrada V2.Right now, all things point for us in the direction of the Tiger 900.
Thanks Markus. What sets the ‘22 and later models apart?
We used them in our family. My wife rode 34.000 km with it without any issues. My father in law about 10.000 km with the same outcome.
Hi and welcome…. There are many good bikes out there, however having owned my 900 gt pro for just over a year I would say it is a fantastic package and will certainly fit all your touring requirements and some more.
