I’m new to triumph with my 2 month old Speedmaster. Thought I’d give it a proper run out after it’s first service. Did the Newcastle ferry to Holland then Hamburg, Copenhagen, Rügen Island , Berlin , Kassel then back on the ferry for the run back up the Scotland. 1,780 miles in 7 days in total and fair to say I’m very happy with this bike. I had to make a decent luggage rack for the rear mudguard (not sure why they don’t sell them) and it did everything I asked of it. I had the engine management light on a couple of times , but went of after a half hour stop both times. Anybody been on any long hauls with the speedmaster?
I have had mine for a year and a half now and I love it I use it for camping trips and often take a mate on the back Never had any problems with it at all and would thoroughly recommend one Saying that though I’m trading it in at the end of the year for a new Rocket 3R
Hi ScotCol, and welcome. I did 1800 miles travelling to and around the Scottish Highlands in May, Here's my bike loaded up... View attachment 59575
Sounds like a great trip abroad, don’t reckon much to the method of securing the bike on the ferry tho.
Nice set up mate I know that it looks pretty rubbish , it was the ferry from Sweden to Germany. There was no floor points and only rope rather than ratchet straps you usually get.Thankfully it was calm on the Baltic that that day.
I just completed a 13 day, 2800 mile trip on my Speedmaster. Loved every minute of the trip. SM ran perfect. I did replace the seat with a Corbin solo seat and added a Dart windscreen. Planning a longer trip next year. Also will find a better bag system with bag bars. Never had any warning lights come on. Enjoy many more safe miles. Dave
ScotCol Boy you certainly did give it a run in. Next time at the dealers just mention it. But I'd imagine you have already. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe.
I had asked this in the Speedmaster thread (copy below) and got no response. The Speedmaster is one of three on my next bike shortlist and the thing that concerns me in addition to the foot forward pegs (I'll install mid controls) is luggage. 2019 Speedmaster. Folks, can you direct me to a luggage rack that can be fitted in place of the pillion seat, also, is the dress-up rack triumph sell to replace pillion good enough as a luggage rack (looks a tad wimpy) not sure I'd want to strap a Kriega US30 loaded to it. I've seen the Hepco & Becker one and don't want one which overhangs the rear but sits where the pillion would be
