Hi all, apologies for the potential silly question.... I’ve just purchased a 2014 Speed Triple R and have noticed that it doesn’t come with any carbon items. Am I to assume that it was only the 2012 R versions that came with carbon items and they were dropped for 2014 to save costs? Thanks in advance, I’m looking forward to being part of the forum.. Cheers Mark
MKelly21. Welcome to the Family. Do drop us a picture of the steed to quieten us all down whilst nursey gives us our meds. As for you question I really don't know. But I am sure the peeps will be here soon to help you out. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe.
I was looking at 2 in a bike shop window last night and noticed that. One was a 2014 and other was a 94R, both had no carbon. Missing the PVM forged wheels my 2012 R has too! Welcome too
Yup that’s the one I’m coming from a K8 Suzuki GSXR750... I hope I’m doing the right thing! Thanks for the warm welcome guys..
Great bike. I’ve had one and a K8 thou, both superb but a bit sanitised, the triple has more character
Yeah, they were great at Bellevue.. had the bike for a couple of hours.. Regarding the original question - I think the carbon fibre parts were removed when they stopped selling the Speed Triple R with the PVM wheels... hence why 2012 is so sought after & very few for sale... It's not going to stop me going ahead, just wanted to know out of interest..
mines is a 2014, I think it was one of the last ones with the PVM wheels, it also has a few bits of carbon on it, whether the original owner put the carbon bits on I don't know,he had it for 2 years and did very little miles on it
Hey Bryan.. oh yes.. collected it today!! After an initial wobble as to if I was doing the right thing with the px I’m as pleased as punch..
Well I’ve been spending last couple of days pottering round Essex on my Triple and I’m very pleased I’ve swapped. My bike had a few extras that the 94 didn’t have.. also down to brass tacks too...
