Just fitted an SW Motech rack to my 2015 Speed Triple for occasional use of a Top Box when touring. Not straight forward but adapt and overcome. When it came to fit the seat back it wouldn't quite latch due to the underseat mounting bracket for the rack. It didn't seem far out so I thought I can just shim up the lock mechanism with a couple of washers underneath. However, the two Torx head screws holding the mechanism on the sub frame, one came out like a dogs back leg and the other sheared after half a turn. I ran a tap down the thread for the one that came out and it only needed one washer to make the seat catch and lock albeit its now only held on with one bolt but I don't see it being an issue. Are these bikes prone to dodgy/weak fasteners?
