The brake discs on my recentl purchased 2006 Speed Four have a lot of movement both side to side and forwards and backwards in the direction of rotation.
The bike has done 29k miles and the bike stops well.
If this is normal, they are the most 'floating' discs I've had on a bike
Should I be concerned, particularly with the MOT due on 19th
    Cheers
    Chris

Floating discs can seem to have an alarming amount of movement but that's how they work and cause problems if the seize up

Do you find you go through pads quicker?

Hi Chris my speed four’s front disks move slightly back and forth and side to side but not much. I hadn’t noticed before you posted and I went and checked. The brakes work perfectly and It passed it’s test 2 days ago after it’s 6 months grace.

The bike passed its MOT on Friday and I had a great ride out yesterday with friends. I will have to swap out the discs as the side to side movement is enough to push the pistons back into the caliper slightly so I’m have to ‘double-pump’ the lever to get full brake power :D
