Has anyone else used Brisk spark plugs while shopping for a new pair for the firestorm recommissioning I always like a bargain and the best price for a pair of NGK I could find was £27.50 and I thought that a bit extreme even if the best price for one was £17.99 so I came across these Brisk plugs and they seem to offer the same specs as the NGK for nearly a fiver less for the pair so I bought them and although not used yet they certainly look the part the annoying thing is and this is typical of me always buying stuff I came across a pair of champion plugs I bought a while ago for the bike and forgot all about them
So I really need to start looking in all these jiffy bags and boxes that are gathering dust in the garage as it could of saved me a few quid this time around because I don't think I will do anywhere near the mileage to warrant changing the plugs again on this bike and I bet they won't fit anything else I have I just don't know for this bike they were so expensive because I bought three NGK,s for the Thunderbird for less than these two

Most of the reviews aren't all that complimentary with one of the biggest comments being that they don't last long at all and so need replacing far more often (buy cheap, buy twice ;))

Cheers for that incouraging glimmer of hope I wouldn't say that nearly £24 was cheap but I guess that's why I never had heard of them before but the honda won't be doing that much once it's back on the road maybe the odd blast down the A5 when the tiger and Thunderbird feel a little sedate two more years and it gets classic status :)

To answer your original question - YES, I've used BRISK spark plugs and, in fact, in one specific application I've found them (counter to HV's summary of customer reviews) to be THE BEST plugs for the aplication. No question, no doubt.

I run a dual fuel car ... i.e. LPG/PETROL ... and have been running dual fuel cars, continuously, for more than 35 years. The car I have now is a 'factory fitted' 2002 dual fuel Astra with more than 180,00 miles on it and I've done more than 150,000 of those in it, mostly on gas. Running on LPG gives spark plugs a MUCH harder life than running on petrol and, prior to discovering BRISK plugs, I learned to accept that Champion and NGK spark plugs were a, pretty much, annual (depending on mileage) consumable/replacement item. That didn't worry me - the savings I made on fuel costs were (and are) still worth the extra expense of a few thousand miles less life from (standard) spark plugs.

I 'found' the BRISK DOR17LGS (propane/dual fuel specific) plugs after a recommendation on a (now long defunct) dual fuel user 'forum' (Yahoo user group) and, despite it being difficult to find a supplier and supply, gave them a try and have used them - exclusively - in my Astra ever since. I'm used to getting at least the same, and often more, mileage out of the plugs as I did on Champion and NGK though, since retirement, my annual mileage has dropped dramatically so I now count plug changes in years rather than miles. I'd estimate that I've run BRISK plugs in my car for more than 100,000 miles and I'm still happy to buy and fit them. I've used "standard" type BRISK plugs in other applications and found them to be fine - no better or worse than NGKs and not too dissimilar in price - to the NGKs, at least.

SO, moral of the story - don't believe everything you read or hear (even/especially if you're hearing it from me! ;-)) Get the correct grade of BRISK plugs and try them for yourself - if it doesn't cost you more, then you have nothing to lose. If it does cost you more, then you've bought a valuable lesson in experience that you can share with others.

I, personally, would unhesitatingly recommend and use BRISK plugs as long as you do your research and get the right plug. YMMV as the saying goes ..... ;)

Copied all that bud, the reviews I looked at were exclusively bikes so i guess it pays to do your research for whatever application you need them for and clearly they work very well for your specific circumstance :)

I don't think £27.50 for a pair of plugs is out of the way for a known reliable brand. I once priced up x4 CBR plugs, £130 if I remember correctly
I personally would/will stick to NGK.

Thanks for your input I did look at reviews on Amazon and nothing to concerning on there and getting them at a much better price than the NGK equivalent it also makes a change that they are European and not Chinese although it's the land of the Skoda Estelle as long as I give them a spray with acf 50 they should not rust away :D

I suppose I'm just out of touch I haven't had to change any plugs for years it's now I've bought the Tiger and want to keep it up to date officially serviced to have a good service history to hold a bit of value when I'm ready to trade it in.
So this is why I'm dusting off the spanners and doing the other two myself plus they don't have any complicated electrics to worry about it's the same with modern cars you open the bonnet and there is more wires and sensors than actual metal

Can’t comment on the Brisk plugs as I’ve never used them but I’ve never had any problem with NGK spark plugs, in cars, bikes, outboards or anything ICE powered in fact. The only plug failures I’ve had were with Champions years ago and some unbranded rubbish in a 23cc RC car I run.
The Champions were in a XJ12 but I bit the bullet and forked out for a full set of NGK’s which I never changed while I had the car. I also had no problems with Bosch plugs I had in a Capri I had back in the 70’s. The single NGK Iridium plug in the Husaberg is around £25-£30 but I’ve only changed it once in 15yrs.

Spark plugs don't have to be changed for a long time and are so relatively inexpensive when compared to any other maintenance item on a bike, why squabble over a few quid? To me, its one of the few things I would pay top dollar for the "best" because the price difference is so minimal and lasts 10's of thousands of miles.
Now if I had 10 bikes, and needed to buy 20-40 at a time, I might be singing a different tune

I have been looking through the service record of the Thunderbird this afternoon and a receipt for 2006 for 3 champion plugs at £3.19 each that is why I couldn't get over the price now for similar items so it isn't a case of squabbling over a few quid it is such a while since I've bought them and never realised that the inflation had increased so much
