Hi guys well briefly I purchased my 2014 America 4-months ago and I received in the sale a pair of Triumph short, well shorter and of course louder than standard, slash cut silencers :p. The previous owner told me that he had them on for a while but got a little tired of the decel popping & banging which as we all know is quite common .
Now my plan is to do a similar upgrade on my America as I did on my 2015 Newchurch, all documented on this site by the way. Which is to do an A.I.S. delete and also and 02-sensor delete, fit a pair of iridium plugs, a performance air cleaner such as a K&N or the like also maybe de-restrict the air filter snorkel ?
Oh and of course swop out the silencers, and lastly maybe even fit a booster plug also fitted to my Newchurch and available from Tech. All the above transformed my Newchurch into a really sweet running bike no hesitation spots and no popping or banging a real pleasure to ride on...... My question is should I fit the whole lot in one swop out or just one at a time .? Also if my memory serves me correctly someone suggested doing a recommended E.C.U. recognition by allowing the bike to idle for around 10 to 12 minutes after upgrades have been completed....?
Thank you in advance for any or all advice/tips......:)

Update: - Well I bit the bullet and assembled all the items listed above and set about fitting it all in on operation. Now with regards to letting the engine run for 10~12 minutes to allow the E.C.U. to adopt the new changes.....
My brother confirmed that he recently spoke to a Triumph Tech whilst having his 900 scrambler in for some warranty work to be carried out and he stated that Triumph E.C.U.'s are one of the best out there in regards to other manufactures. So I let my America idle for 15-mins just to be sure and left it until today to test ride, with some sunshine to accompany me at last....:sun:.
Well I can hardly believe the difference it's like a completely different machine picks up instantly off the throttle, no popping or banging clean and crisp sounds glorious with the new mufflers. I cut everything off the base of the air filter snorkel and just left the top section of the snorkel itself I even removed the bridge across the centre of the opening of the snorkel so it's obviously getting a lot more air than stock. I know the power gains are probably going to be modest but it certainly feels significant.:p
Anyhow in conclusion I can thoroughly recommend all the above as it's worked for me twice now on both my Bonneville's.....

Thanks Joe for the positive comments :), yes luckily it worked for me which I guess may not be the case for everyone. At my age  I wasn't looking for extra speed or particularly extra power just a better sounding bike without the decel pop's. O.K. I certainly gained some noticeable extra torque which is a bonus of course and much better throttle response. And to conclude it didn't cost an arm and a leg to carry out the mod, especially seeing I had the Triumph mufflers in the first instance......:grinning:
