A simple Thank You goes a long way.

In the 15 months that I have been a member of this forum I have received a lot of help from forum members.
I always go out of my way to say thank you so people know that I appreciate their help and advice.

So I get a bit annoyed when people ask questions and get a ton of advice, and then can not be bothered to give a simple thank you in return. This does not apply to the vast majority of the forum members, but maybe the forum members it does apply to can benefit from this?

As it's so rare for help/advice to go unacknowledged on here. It stands out like a sore thumb when a thank you isn't offered.

    Or completely sidetracked. :D
I know what you mean though Ron, the ones who come on, no introduction, want to know how to fix their bike, then f#(k off and are never heard of again. We are better off without them if I’m honest, more room for pi$$taking by the rest of us.:p

I feel offended for the unacknowledged on this forum. I feel especially offended for the colonial non-British minority on here in order that we can maintain our equal opportunities and diverse approach.

I think we treat our colonial cousins really well Ade?
We hardly ever mention how ungrateful they are for wanting independence. After we had diligently cared for them for all those years   :p

Manners cost nothing. I've got help on here too, and I'm always mindful to say thank you, that way I know I can call out for help on my next disaster. This is a great forum, with bundles of knowlidgable people, ( some would say know it all buggers, :joy:, but not me). ;);)

RON: I agree with you completely. Not only a thank you is in order, but some feedback as well. Did the information given solve your problem would be a place to start. People need to realize they do not live in a bubble. What you post is here for all to read [and hopefully learn]. I have seen sites like this die when people just get the answer they are looking for and go. We all learn.from the collective experience. ...J.D.

I think that I'm polite respectful non offensive and show my gratitude....

    I think.....

I do lack a bit of subtlety and finesse sometimes and if I ever do forget to say thanks I apologise...its cos I'm so focused on my bike at times I forget...
A bit like I forgot about the wifes birthday today and for a present I swept the kitchen floor....
She was not as impressed as I thought she would be...

Apparently I'm now taking her out for a romantic meal...

That doesn't mean I'm taking you lot out for a romantic meal if I forget to say thanks occasionally :p

And she deserves it. Make sure you make it top class everything. Could this be derailing the thread. But yes I agree and disagree with most of it. Sometime peeps come here in desperation and can't afford the stealers prices. So its nice to get them up and running again. You know they don't say it but they are greatfull and I just like being able to help others out.
    Regards & Ride Safe
    Joe.
