So my bike has arrived into the dealership and I can have it this week

My question is should I wait until 1 September to get the new registration plate or take it now, does anybody have any ideas if this will effect the value of the bike if or when I come to sell it and if so by how much.

    Thanks

The fact you are asking this question would suggest you wait :)

I have bought new, there are no T120s around with savings worth having so decision was made and the bike is sitting at the dealers, I'm itching to get it but sense says wait 21 days and have that bit more residual in it. I know you can't guess but logically a 66 bike should be worth more than a 16 reg

Dealers will always say it's the year that's important not the reg, that's when they're selling. When they're buying, you're part exchanging, they'll say it's the reg that's important ie 'shame it's not a 66 plate'...

I'd hang on, ask your dealer if they've got something you can borrow to scratch that itch !!

I have to wait for mine as there is no stock otherwise i would of had it at the end of July. The dealer implied that as I had to wait until September it would be worth a extra £300 ... Some consolation

i decided to wait, told the dealer and they said, 'wise decision' reckoned it could be £250-£500 difference on trade in (depending on how long i keep it). Then they dropped the bombshell that they'd PDI is today just in case I wanted it!!!!

I'd be mad and wanting £500 off the bike...or refuse it.

Why? Im delighted that they've been pro active and put the bike together such that I can make a straight choice to take it this week or wait until the new reg. Thumbs up to the dealer from me, great service

Used or new, your buying it to ride it, not to sit in a garage not being used, get it and ride it!
