My headwear of choice of course has to match the bike that I choose to ride on any given day.....Helmut is the same :p. I am sure it's not just us :D. My choice of headgear I would say is bright and lairy, not subtle....Helmut's choices are much classier .

This thread has made me realise that all of them need a good deep clean, they're looking a bit like the insect - killing items they truly are o_O.

Anyone else care to share their headgear / motorcycle combos? :).

Ok, seeing as you asked so nicely @Mrs Visor and hopefully it's OK with @Helmut Visor , here you go.

Not so much fashion, more function in my/our case, not all mine.

I do like that first pic of your Shoei design.

For on road, Shoei Neotec 2....

    IMG_5560.jpeg

    For off road, HJC HQX.....

    IMG_5561.jpeg

Had numerous replicas in the past, Lawson, Abe, Joey Dunlop plus a few standard colours but I'm more of a practical guy now and find the Neotec a superb helmet. Comfortable, good ventilation and the practicality of a built in sun visor and flip front which is great for eating a quick snack, drinking a quick coffee or just shouting obscenities at other road users.
The HJC is so light I swear it would blow away in a strong wind! I've kept my previous (black) flip Schuberth C3 Pro for occasional green laning use when the weather is bad but I will never buy another black helmet for road use. In hot weather, especially in traffic it's like sticking you head on the BBQ.

Now I feel so boring - just a plain white LS2 Strobe with the Civic pattern...... a few black lines. :worried:

I still like it though! ;)

I agree entirely about the black I have a couple of Matt black shark helmets but haven't had them long enough to actually encounter the heating myself I don't understand my brother everything he owns is black the only bit of colour he wears is when his clothes have been continually washed and gone grey I would never buy a plain white helmet though as in the past it has given me the appearance of having a big head it's the same with trainers white make my feet look bigger unless it's just my eyes

Another thing that just came to mind is while on the subject of helmets well really it's something Mrs visor originally said about choosing the helmet that suits or goes with the colour of the bike well I did things about face I bought the Thunderbird to go with a new open face helmet I bought a while ago :D

@Mrs Visor Nice hats. And you can never have enough helmets. But you can only wear one.

    Great thread, @Mrs Visor!

I only have the one bike but as I have six helmets I thought I'd clarify what they are (see the pic below).

The two on the right are both Hedon Hedonist 2s that I managed to snag in their sale - I think they were about 40% off the ridiculously high list price of £540 at the time. They're lovely things that I wear a lot when I'm pottering about, and to my mind they're perfect for the Bonnie.

To the left of them is another Hedonist, but this one has a bit of a story. I actually won it from the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride a few years ago, having somehow managed to join the prizewinners that year for the most funds raised. From memory I was 4th highest in London,10th in the UK and 90th globally.

Next to that and fourth from the right is a Shoei JO. It's a bit more protective than the Hedons (albeit still open face) with a built in visor/sun guard. It's also very comfortable indeed.

Then my two full face Arais...

The top one is an Axces 3 - the first helmet I bought back in 2018 and, though fairly basic in terms of tech, still the most comfortable helmet I've owned. Feels lovely and light too.

Finally, a Concept XE - bought just a few weeks ago as I felt like I needed something newer and higher spec (it's actually the same helmet as the Rapide, but Arai were forced to change the name). Not quite as comfortable as I'd like (particularly after installing my Cardo system), but I'm sure that with a bit of wear the lining/pads will shape to my head a bit more and it'll be fine. I did have to buy smaller cheek pads, though - I'm between a small and a medium with Arai but with this one the medium was just a touch to big.

That's a very impressive collection! The DGR design looks smart.

Thanks. I've always loved it, for both the design and the story behind it.

And here's tonight's purchase for me after my youngest decided he needed a new helmet. My current one seemed the sensible solution:joy:
It's a good upgrade for him, although it did create another expense for me o_O but I at least then get a fresh one
And he doesn't buy junk :p

The lads LASER helmet, earlier picture in the thread ( post #4), is now 6 years old yet my Arai was under 2.
