Continuing my newbie wrenching on my 05 America. The clutch lever seemed quite heavy/stiff, so I lubed the cable and adjusted it. I found that there is no freeplay at all, at the clutch or the lever, even with the adjusters at their extremes, so I guess I need a new cable. However, I figured it would still run. However, after the adjustment, the lever is very soft and the clutch does not engage. I followed (or thought I followed) the instructions in the Haynes online manual and in a youtube video I watched, so I thought I was on the right track, but apparently I messed up somehow. Any ideas how? Thanks, Fenix

Thanks a million, Callumity! No doubt I will take advantage of the link sometime, since there is no Triumph dealership here in Kuwait.
Actually, after sleeping on it, I realized what the problem was. I had misunderstood the concept of "freeplay." Went out this morning and adjusted it correctly. I'll be riding to work this morning, after all. Fenix
