Today I started "official" my bike season 2026 with my Rocket ("Stormi").
The temperatures were about 3-7 degrees celsius and the weather looked really nice.
I started in my area and had some surprises above the sealevel of 500 metres. The snow of the last days in cooperation with the wind had produced in some parts of my way snow drifts across the roads. So Stormi had to manage those obstacles. Everything went great and it was an amazing rideout. Afterwards I cleaned Stormi for a while.;) IMG_20260103_161046.jpg

@Markus looks good. But no need to rub it in while we are sitting in the freezing cold. Only joking nice bike and lovely scenery.

Great photos, @Markus and a good start to a new year. I hope this kicks off a wonderful 2026 that's full of fun and adventure and lots and lots of motorcycle miles! :)

Good on you! I'm turning into such a wuss. The older I get, the higher the temp needs to be before I will ride. I turned 73 in October. 7 degrees C is about 45 degrees F, which it was here in NJ last week. It was sunny and 45 degrees F didn't feel too bad standing in my driveway, I took the Bonnie out for a ride. I have a full Madstad, tall windscreen. Granted, I didn't break out my heavy, cold weather gear (leather jacket with liner, fully lined gloves, full face helmet, etc.) but I didn't make it five miles down the road! I turned around and went home.
It's going up into the 50s this week. I'll get out.

    Hello,
Today in Phoenix, it will be in the low 70’s today and
    the rest of the week.
    Nice 80mi ride, yesterday.
Now the months of July, Aug, when it's 110 out, I only ride after dark or
    early in the morning.
    Ride safe everyone……..

2025/2026 winter season is the first in many winters when I have not ventured out for a ride. A combination of rain, snow and ice along with my lack of motivation in temperatures below 7 or 8 degrees has meant my bike has yet to move this winter. Hopefully temperatures will climb a little close to 10 degrees in the coming weeks so I can start to think about getting the bike out.
I think I’m getting too old to suffer the low temperatures that in the past did not bother me.
