Scottoiler v system

    Hi all,
    I've recently bought a scottoiler v system, as I own a triumph I received an additional t piece which you have to fit into the corrugated vacuum pipe. Here comes my problem: to get to the corrugated pipe I need to remove the petrol tank, I attempted this last weekend but when I lifted the petrol tank, 1 of the pipes started to drip. Any tips on doing this safely and if I disconnect the pipes will petrol leak out. I have the owners manual but it doesn't state draining the tank.
