Right. So as the title says. Scarlett was a right c#nt the last 2 days.
She has been giving me a bit of trouble at low revs but ran like hell over 1,500.
So I was saving it for winter and figured I would sort it during winter maintenance.
Thursday she was being a bit more prissy than usual.
And Friday she just flat out stalled at the light when I went to pull out.
But again, ran good when the revs got going.

During a conversation with @Bad Billy he thought I might have a plugged pilot jet.
So if that is it now I think I have 2.
I still get comments on my fuel mileage which is hard to figure out with the difference between the UK and US gallon. My high is 30 mpg and my low is 23 mpg.

So I got the plugs out and as usual #2 sucks.
And is was a bit of a different color than #1 and #3.
According to this chart #2 seems to be doing better than #1 and #3 right?
So from this is there any way to tell which carb might be giving me trouble?
I really do not desire to rip them all of, but will if needed.

Ron, race bike was running shit today similar symptoms, I have ended up changing the plugs which seems to have cured it.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I'd suggest that if you're going to need to work on more than one carb - and that looks likely from the plugs - then you might as well do them all. They take a common fuel supply so if one, or more likely now 2, of them has a blocked pilot jet then it's likel that the third won't be far behind. I guess you could always give the Sea Foam route a try first? But the most definintve cure is going to be a strip.

Sorry, Ron. Hope it works out OK.

My top tip is... Don't fill the sonic bath with degreaser! o_O

Good luck mate. You know that Scarlett is worth the effort

    Ron.
Yes you look like 1 and three are running very slightly rich. Do you have any spare carbs as I know you did have spares. If you do get them sonically cleaned and ready and just swap over. Could be plugs or spark as well. Worth checking mate. Best of luck do let us all know how you get on.
    Regards
    Joe

Now to tear them down and into the ultra sonic bath.
Just Dawn dish soap. No Degreaser.

Hey Ron, if you are interested , the T300 models respond well to the following carburettor mod. Pull the tops off , four screws , lift out the pistons, you will see a small hole to one side of the needle. If you still them out slightly bigger you get quicker throttle response ! I went Huge ! Drilled far bigger than the forum member who posted this mod on another Triumph forum ! My 94 trident would wheelie/mono in first three gears off the throttle !!! Top speed rose about 5/10 kph as well :) . Fuel economy improves too ... If you aren't racing !!

That's a cool mod, but I'd be more inclined to get it running right on all three cylinders before doing any mods.

Found the problem. And @Dozers Dad is going to know where this came from.
I found this damned red crap in the bottom of the bowls.

Some of the jets are plugged on on there way.
For a while I had been running a octane booster.
I had sat some in a small dosage bottle of to the side and forgot to put it in.
So it sat for a couple weeks.
I had started to see sediment in the bottom of the bottle.
This is that god damned sediment from the earlier doses.

So the bowls and jets are in the bath first.
    Then the carbs go.
I have a jet cleaning tool. I'll use it after they soak for a while then reinstall them in the bath.

Ron the shelf life of ethanol blend gasoline is only about 2 week. Gas without ethanol is 50 cents a gallon more so I have switched all my carbirated equipment motors to straight gas. Can't get much repaired any more for the $50 extra you would pay on 100 gallons.
Bonus I was able to pick up a six gallon non CARB non safety gas can that actually works, at an estate sale.
