There are flights from Bordeaux, am over in Angouleme that week, although they're a bit thin on the ground at this time of year. Think Easyjet do a Mon-Fri option if that's of any use.

Thanks HV but Bordeaux is about three and a half hours from me and it's in the wrong direction.

I think if I'm going to go, it's going to be by road.

Glad you are getting strong again. Have though about you but didn't want to write to soon as I knew you had other problems.

Sorry to read of the passing of your cousin. I lost a brother in law many years ago that way, It was a complete shock when it happened. Tragic indeed. My condolences to you and yours. Ride safe and enjoy and celebrate life as long as you can.

Hello Joe and thank you sincerely for your support.

I linked this thread to John's son Tim and he was very touched by the sincerity and breadth of supporting comments. We may be hairy-arsed bikers, but we also have heart and soul.

Yes I agree with you. And someone said we have all been there at some time or another. If Tim needs to talk tell him to join the Forum and we are here for him. Sometimes it takes a stranger who will just listen to help you. And someone else said it here. We grown up men sometimes feel it is impossible to shed a tear. I found out the hard way and its worse. When we lost our baby my heart was hurting. I found all the people I knew would shy away when they saw me. And if they couldn't they would say how's Tracy. I had one friend through it all John an ex biker and without him I don't know what would have happened. But I learnt and if I can help someone else then thank God for that lesson. And take care of your self.
    Regards
    Joe.

Hi all, just got news that this is to be John's new ride :

    In Tim's words:

"Dad always loved Kawasakis but unfortunately they didn’t have one so instead he’s got another super bike, a Suzuki Hayabusa."

A good way to go out, don't you think?

I'm pretty sure there would be some snowflake out there that would think this sacrilegious and wrong for any number of reasons that do not compute with me. Personally as a life long biker, this looks like the way to go. Take the long way to the cemetery by going once around the track at a good pace. Yea this seems right to me.
