Has anyone run a USB cable from the charge point under the seat up to the handle bars? Did you find a weather resistant cable or was that a concern? Did you modify the box under the seat to prevent pinching of the cable when shutting the lid? I was thinking about running one up to my where I have my phone mounted to keep it charged on longer rides (when we're allowed to go out again anyway).

I ran a long iPhone cable up to my handle bars on my speed twin. Just went under the fuel tank and then a few cable ties to keep it neat. Not had any problems so far running it in rain and washing the bike touch wood !

I had the aux socket fitted, it sits next to steering lock and in headlamp bowl is a connector specifically for it. Always on. Socket £25 i use a Hella to USB adapter

I had the aux socket installed on the 2021 model. Due to unpleasent events I'm now on a 2025 model, which doesn't come with keyless go (which I like!). There's also no aux socket anymore. At least not near the handlebars. So this topic becomes relevant again.

I don't like these clunky usb ports that one can mount to the handlebar. Are there options thst look more integrated / hidden?

I just ran a longish cable up from the socket under the seat (in the "phone compartment" that nobody is ever going to use for that purpose) under the tank and up at the handlebars. I cut a small hole in the side of that phone compartment to route the cable out.

I was attaching to a wireless charging head on my Quadlock phone mount, so I just added some dielectric grease around the outside of the connector to ensure a waterproof connection, and that's worked perfectly for over a year on my '24, about 10k miles and a full winter of riding.

I'm planning to do a similar exercise on my Street Triple. The USB socket is under the tail hump and you can just about squeeze a phone in there, but I have an Ultimateaddons bracket on the handlebars (similar to Quadlock), so I've got a long cable ready to use, I've just got to take the fuel tank off and route it up to the bars. Mebbe a winter job now?
