This has been a great thread to follow, along with the banter and piss take that you've received, and given.
The end result is that you have a brilliant looking bike that you put a lot of time and effort into, and it's paid off for you.

Well pleased for you Ron old bean. It's been great to see the transformation during the life of this thread and your perseverance has been fantastic, despite the daft comments you've had along with the helpful ones.

Plenty of ride out pics to come I hope.

Hey Ron! There was NO chance that the Speedy was going to do anything other than pass that inspection, otherwise we'd have been sending some out of work jockeys over to have a word with the DMV representatives!

You've done a great job to resurrect what could have been a terminal failure and you deserve a great deal of praise. Keep us updated with ride reports and any other developments that occur. In the meantime - get out there and ENJOY!

Nice to see this go on the front page of the Forum @Ron Ashurst can't quite understand why it didn't happen sooner?

Earlier today I had a look back over this thread, it is long, but plenty of great advise from Forum members to help Ron along the way, Ron posted plenty of pictures and solutions to problems he encountered, there was also the obligatory p1$$ taking and humour along the way! :p

But the whole point of the thread was that Ron who found this Speed Triple (AKA Scarlet) under a tree in a salvage yard, has now brought her back to life, he has done so well, with the help of this community, so now he can enjoy the fruits of his labour.

Ride safe Ron, and may your love affair with Scarlet last for ever!:heart::heart:

(Don't get all emotional coz of this post Ron, you are still a fecktard BTW!) o_O

What about the bullet hole in the tank?
That was Mrs DD's idea. Apparently it's now a feature & a talking point. Rather than a dent.

Yep, from when I dropped it at the stop sign. Argh. My Mrs. saw and wanted to know what happened. Then realised it was a sticker. :p

And that was an Awesome idea. I forgot to tell you that I put one on the other side that had a ding in it. It will keep the weather from rusting the tank as well. Damned sticker looks pretty realistic as well. :)
