I have brackets for mounting a pair of Givi Panniers on my 2022 Bonneville T120. The instructions have me removing the mounting bolt on the top of the rear suspension unit. Before I do that, I want to be certain that the suspension spring will still be compressed and that top bold isn't holding the unit together.

A second related question, assuming removing the top bolt isn't going to release the spring tension, what is that top bolt torqued to? It feels like it is about 10 foot pounds.

    Thanks.
