Vintage Tiger Ref 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050 instruments

    Hi all, I'm considering buying the above bike - 2007 Tiger 1050 - and my question relates to the speedo and odometer.

    I believe that it is possible on the instruments to somehow switch between MPH and KPH on the speedo; and between miles and kilometers on the distance travelled meters.

    Could someone please confirm that this is true? I need to know because I'll be buying in UK but taking the new bike back home to France.

    Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

    It was possible on my '02 Daytona CE, so I would guess it will be the same on the Tiger! Or not - progress has a nasty habit of being somewhat retrograde!! :eek::oops:

    Hi Steve, well the Tiger does have digital instruments so it seems likely that they will be switchable. It's just that registering the bike in France depends on it having KPH style clocks.

    Will you also have to fit a restrictor kit to reduce its power? I read somewhere that the French had a 100bhp power limit in force, or is that just an evil rumour? Or has it been removed due to lack of interest? :)

    Hi Steve, there has been up to now a 100 bhp engine power limit but that is going to be lifted January 2016. I'll delay the French registration if necessary.

    A 1050 Tiger is 115 bhp isn't it?

    Found this on another forum but relating to Speed Triples in response to a question for a 2007 model - I understand they have the same digital display as the Tiger...hope this helps.

    For 1050 Sprints & Triples:
    1. Turn on ignition
    2. Press all 3 buttons until speedo display shows 1,2 or 3
    3. To change the the display units press the 'SCR' button (Left button)
    4. When you have the correct display press SET (Middle button)

    Display modes:
    1 - km/h + liters
    2 - mph + UK (Imperial) gallons
    3 - mph + US gallons
