    Evening all,

been offered a rear shock from a 2010 R that has just been fully serviced and revalved to suit almost my weight

question is, would this fit onto. 13-16 standard street? Getting it for peanuts

    thanks

I've helped fit a 2013 STR shock to a 2007 Street previously with no problem, so it should fit.
The STR shock did lift the rear a bit but that may have been because the old shock was knackered....

I’ve heard a few conflicting things saying it might not fit as the reservoir is mounted higher up on the older shocks , apparently won’t fit cause of the abs that’s fitted and shocks for the 13-16 were mounted lower down to clear it

Looking at online pics just now, it certainly looks like that may be the case :(
So newer shock can go into old but maybe not vice versa.
I guess offering it up to the bike is the only way to be sure...

No, of course it won't fit! Nope, not a chance in hell that'll go .... never in a million years. You did say it was cheap, didn't you? I'll do you a big favour and take it off your hands - how much? ;)

Just kidding, of course. The honest answer is that I don't actually know if it will or won't fit, BUT - if it doesn't, I would be interested in taking it off your hands ...... assuming any weight difference is not too dramatic in terms of the valving!

Hope it does work out for you but, if not, then at least you know it might go to a good home ......... :D

Al let you know tomorrow. It’s been revalved for the 170-180lb mark. Have the receipt for the full service and revalving of it. Al ve honest al be gutted haha. Obv won’t get all the money back for it but if I can get what was paid to have the work done (don’t expect to get the money on top for the actual shock) then al be almost happy. The suspension tech pretty confident it ain’t gonna but it’s in to have forks serviced
