I have just bought a 2001 995i Speed Triple. I have to do a full rewire because the previous owner destroyed the wiring loom when he tried to remove the alarm. I have managed to source another used loom which looks OK.

I had a couple of Sprint STs some years ago - one 955i and a 1050. Both great bikes but particularly the 1050 encouraged bad behaviour.

The speed triple sounds a tad lumpy (yes I have managed to run it up, so once rewired I will need to balance the throttle bodies.

Can you guys suggest what is the best way of plugging the bike in to a laptop. I think I still have a cable. I used to use Tune ECU to change maps for exhaust changes. I'm guessing things have moved on now?

@Ralph Ferrand Welcome to the family. Nice bike had a couple over the years and loved them. There are a lot of wise ones here. I am sure they will be able to assist. Jus add pictures when you need an explanation.

Thanks so much for the manual. Ironically I have one for the 1050 and the later 955i as I had Sprint STs. My printer is busily churning out the pages as I type this!

It's a long while since I used Tune Ecu - last time was to change the map on my Wife's Street Triple when she put a deeply offensive can on it LOL

I remember with the later 955i Sprint ST it was a pain in the nuts feeding fuel from the tank whilst adjusting the throttle bodies. Has anyone made any fuel pipe extenders in recent years or is there a supply of fittings one could make one with?

    Thanks

    Ralph
