    New Zealand and Australia have announced quarantined free travel between countries, starting April 19.:heart_eyes:
    Currently, quarantine-free travel is only available one way, from Niue to New Zealand. ... If you are going to enter 14 days of quarantine in Niue, you must provide 1 negative COVID-19 test result within 4 working days of your scheduled departure.:mask:
    This will allow 2way travel for both countries with separate terminal access “green lanes” to protect travellers from other countries and quarantine travellers :D.

    Currently NZ Entry Status: COMPLETELY CLOSED to all but returning Kiwis and transit passengers.
    RESTRICTED ENTRY (TRANSIT)

    International travelers are allowed to transit through Auckland International Airport following the listed procedures.

    Transit travelers are required to:
    -Stay in the transit area of the airport or on board the aircraft, for less than 24 hours;
    -Have a valid visa or ETA;
    -Provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR, RT-PCR, LAMP, or antigen test result from a test taken in the 72 hours prior to departure.
    This will now change for Australian travellers, effectively extending the NZ bubble to include the states of Australia :p

    This is a great new chapter in our recovery and will be welcomed by families split across the two countries :heart_eyes:.
    Previously those travellers going to Australia from NZ have had to observe a 14 quarantine period at a booked and paid facility :sob:

    You guys got it right from the start in terms of quarantine, the U.K, by contrast, have only recently begun quarantine hotels for incomers making them stay, and pay. I know it’s easier when your whole population is less than the number living in London and there are less airports etc but well done and let’s hope it’s stays out this time.

    Containment is the key which allows NZ with a less populated country to try to contain outbreaks while protecting the borders by quarantine. There’s a long way to go but happy to see an easing of restrictions for us all :cool:
