I'm guessing the std vario nozzle is partially blocked causing the pressure to overshoot and lift the pump releif valve which causes it to cycle high / low constantly, fitting the new nozzle and fixing the fault would tend to prove that .
You were telling me all about it when we met up in Scotland. You'd had a skinful , so probably forgot !!!
