hey there! My name is Peter and am in the states in the Northeast. I’m 54 and getting back into the motorcycle life after about 20 years (raisIng a family and now my son is in college. Anyway I’m interested in riding and exploring locally and touring (smaller distances mostly but always dreaming of a longer trip). I’ve always thought the r1200rt was the bike for me but today for the first time I saw (and sat on) The Bonnie T120 (of course a completely different bike) and it just really called out to me. can’t explain it. Feels more “true” or “pure” maybe? I don’t know. Anyway I think I’ve been won over. Can’t wait to test ride one and explore and learn more. Would love to hear more about touring experiences on these beautiful machines. Sorry forthe long post ! Pkrip
Welcome from sunny California. The T120 is a beautiful bike. But it does not hurt to also try out the 900's (T100 and Street Twin). I have the Street Twin and use it for long rides. I also like the fact that is has cast wheels (tubeless tires). Easy to ride, comfortable and has plenty of power. Whatever you choose, enjoy.
Hi and welcome to the forum. On my second Bonnie and whichever you choose, new water cooled 1200 or 900, or the earlier air cooled 865 and 790cc bikes you won't go far wrong!
My choice of new bike (health, shed space, money, wife, all being in celestial alignment) would be a T120. But ..... the Trident stays, whatever!! Oh ... and welcome Pkrip!!
Yes very effective. It is the touring screen (larger size) that Triumph makes specifically for the Street Twin. I would assume a similar Triumph screen for the T100 or T120 would also work well.
Here is my T120. Recently completed 700 miles over 3 days. Great fuel economy and easy 80mph all day on motorways, good handling on smaller roads but not up to sports bike standards. I use Kreiga soft luggage which is great and Triumph saddlebags but not impressed with these so much. Eastbourne Mark
Welcome bud. Test ride the T120 and also the T100 and Street Twin if you can. They are all great bikes. I've toured on my Street2.
Welcome back to riding Pete, I started riding again 9 years ago after a break of 28 years, It is best thing I've ever done........apart from meeting the wife (just in case she sees this!!) Ride safe mate
Hey Peter - welcome in - how's noo joysee? When a bike does that "come to me" call you've just got to scratch that itch! Do the test ride - soon. The Bonnie should be wholly capable of taking you on your tours, local or national, with the right luggage and riding gear. I've ridden many thousands of miles in the States (I did that mid-life crisis thing of wandering round the US for a year on my own) from a number of different motorcycle saddles - including west to east on US 50 on a 900 Tiger - and the actual machine used was, generally, less important than the journey it permitted! Buy that Bonnie, get out there and enjoy! Ride safely. Regards, Adie
