    Hi guys and girls.
Just washed my 2018 Tiger XRT (with about 26500 miles ridden) after coming back off my latest Denmark/Sweden trip.
I started her up to dry the engine etc and think I could hear the cam chain rattling more than normal. I also think that as the bike warmed the noise went away.

    1. The cam chain adjuster is automatic- right?

    2. Could this be that the chain hasn’t got enough slack for the adjuster to automatically adjust out?

    3. Do you perceive this be a trip to the dealer is in future plans?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and ideas.

If the noise goes away when the engine is warm as you say, then it is highly unlikely to be a timing chain issue, and yes the tensioner is auto, it may be a lazy spring in the tensioner itself, most times when this happens a simple oil and filter change cures it, if it does not then it is tensioner out and inspect, and if found to be worn replace it.
