Sad to see that Percy Tait, Triumph test rider and works racer, has died, just after his 90th birthday, according to the January 2020 edition of Classic Bike Guide. Nice article about him in the magazine. Saw him race several times back in the seventies, mainly on the howling Tridents with the likes of John Cooper, Paul Smart and Tony Jeffries amongst others (even if some were on Rocket 3s - possibly).

RIP, Percy and thanks for the memories.

I watched Percy race at Brands when I was a kid, I remember seeing some of his boots up for sale at one of the stalls, they had worn right through the leather on the toes!
