Hi All, Hope everyone is safe and healthy. A huge motorcycle nut here. I recently watched vintage racing in Laguna Seca and saw a Thruxton 900 on the grid and it got me inspired as I have one just sitting due to CA's ridiculous registration fees. The profile picture is a 1968 TR6R that in now in Kent, UK hopefully being ridden as it should. Also a big fan of BMW, Ducati and old school Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki's. Looking forward to learning from old school riders. Ride well and have fun. John
I know what you mean about California license fees. I have two old classics parked on "non-op" right now. Running my "new bike". right now, a 2002 America. Hope to get the other Triumphs back on the road this year "Too many toys, too little time". Enjoy. ...J.D.
John Garcia. A belated welcome to the family. Do you have any video clips of the bikes on track. Regards & Ride Safe. Joe.
How do John and welcome to the Triumph Asylum - we're always looking for new blood !!!!!! Don't worry John, Nursie will be along soon with your 'meds'.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I do have a video but the quality is not the great so I'll leave a couple of pics for you guys to enjoy. It was an AHRMA race that was close to the public (don't know why) but the park is open for everyone. Cheers, John
Yup, the famous or infamous Corkscrew corner. Ive sat many times at Laguna Seca on that hill watching races. Last time i was there i watched Nicky Hayden ride. He was one of the few American riders who was MotoGP level. May he RIP.
Stood on the very ground where these pictures were taken, camera in hand. Both for the Super Bikes, and the vintage car events. My favorite track. ...J.D.
Was at Laguna Seca 4 times. Only ONCE for motorcycles. I think that was 2002. Rode my newly acquired 900 Sprint 300 miles each way with a broken shoulder. Still have that bike today. Came home in a heat wave. It was 110°f. when I got home after 5 days at the races. OH what a sunburn ! ...J.D.
