Riding home last week in driving wind and rain,(June?) decided I had to fit oxford EL800 cruiser hot grips to my 2014 T100. (1" bars)
First problem was removing the end caps to the bars which are stainless steel allen key bolts but had been thread locked in factory, so of course being such a small size they round off! Had to drill the head off to release end cap and then heat the remaining stud up to break the thread-lock, then remove with thin nosed molegrips.
Removing the old grips then was easy after squirting wd40 down them and working round with a feeler gauge.
Clutch side is straight forward but throttle side, I removed the throttle tube fins and collar with a Stanley knife and sanded down till the new grip slides on. If it jams halfway, use two spanners either side of grip to slide it back off without damaging it.
I mounted the controller on the bars using the bracket provided. Connected it all up to check it worked before superglueing the grips on, and also checking the wires don't foul the controls and tank.
I lifted the tank and sat it crossways over the frame while feeding the wiring through the forks etc. zip tied in place, sorted direct to battery as the controller has the smart circuit that shuts it down if I forget to switch off.
Had to test that function, leave it on when you switch off the engine and it starts flashing then switches itself off after 5 minutes.
So do shop around as £100 rrp is outrageous seeing as 7/8 " bar kits are £40 ish. I look forward now to the convenience, as ugly old bar muffs were a pain, and I wasn't happy with them!
