So I pop out to check my tyre pressures and top up the fuel tank before setting off to the Pyrenees on Saturday morning.

Come back home and put the bike in the garage, then as I am putting it on the Centre stand I hear a tearing noise followed by a pain in my leg.

Achillie tendon torn, leg in plaster. Bugger

Well I visited the hospital again this morning to see the specialist Andrew he has confirmed it was a full break of the tendon rather than a tear. So I will be in plaster for 8 weeks than a boot for the following 4 weeks.

I’ve now had to cancell the International trip to Bad Bertrich as well. At least all the hotels I booked could be cancelled without charge. I will have to claim the eurotunnel cost of £79 on insurance.

    Double bugger.

That’s a double blow Mick, I was hoping to meet up again.

I did something similar a couple of years ago.

Putting the bike away and onto it’s centre stand I felt something go twang in my right leg calf muscle and after a visit to the local A&E they diagnosed a torn calf muscle.
I was due to go to Dubai the following day and the doc gave me the thumbs up as I didn’t need my leg putting in plaster.
They loaned me a couple of crutches for a few weeks.

I suppose your injury will get you out of doing any housework ;):)

Every cloud has a silver lining Rich, you said at the GMU that you couldn’t make your mind up about the Germany trip.
Get the hotel booked quick :)

Wow, I didn't realise these centre stand contraptions were so dangerous! @Dozers Dad you may wish to reconsider your planned purchase of this injury inducing device! :worried:
