Picked up my brand spankin' new Speed Twin on Monday. When riding home, there was a flash of the instrument cluster and everything was just reset. Time changed to 00:00 and Trip A and Trip B to 0.

    Tuesday was a busy day.

Wednesday morning i emailed the dealer to let him know and he said they'll check it during next service. Wednesday evening during a ride, SAME thing happened twice and for a briefly longer time. Emailed the dealer again since i didn't feel safe riding the bike (and the dealer is really far).

Friday bike was picked up by the dealer so they can diagnose the issue.

Today (Sunday), i'm waiting for the dealer to get back to me.

Not a fun way to start this new relationship lol

Welcome from a fellow newbie. Have faith........could be a loose connector or summit. Modern bikes are so complicated, even with all the will in the world, you'd be hard pushed to have every bike 100% perfect. Having said that, I would be extremely pissed off and would probably ask for a replacement. Hope it goes well.

Yeah unfortunately no one replaces bikes or cars just like that. Once it’s sold, it’s sold. I just hope it’s a loose connector and is fixed immediately. Didn’t help that the dealer is closed on the weekend so I have to wait till Monday at least to get an update.

Sounds like a loose battery connector to me but I wait to be proved wrong.

If it were me and not being contented to wait, I'd have a good filch about trying to identify any obvious fault but I guess you have already done that and come to nought?

Not to underplay your problems, but too bad it won't reset the odometer occasionally to keep it in warranty and the resale value up!

You’ve got to have given the dealer a reasonable chance to repair the bike though before you can do that.
I had a similar problem with a new car from day 1 and had to let them try to fix it before I could hand it back. It’s not as easy as it first seems.

Welcome Prank. Sorry to hear about the difficulty with your new bike. But as the fellas have already said it will probably be something simple. And once it's fixed you will most likely have years of reliable fun with it.

So heard back from the dealer. It was just a loose instrument cluster plug from the factory. They’ve plugged it back in properly and shouldn’t have any further issues. Should get the bike back today!!! Time to ride!

That’s a relief, at least it was an easy fix. Just reset to day 1 of ownership when it’s back and enjoy. :grinning:
Let’s see a pic or two of the new beast too. Welcome to the forum BTW.

Here it is in all its glory!
Over time I’ll black out the silver parts.

Just got the bike back! Definitely a riding kinda day here in Toronto too (as long as it doesn't rain).

I have to wash the bike though, but then riding time!! Will try and take some better pics when i get a chance to get out in the country.

    Nice bike!

That looks like the same exhaust that is on mine, the previous owner installed. May I ask what it is? There seems to be no markings on mine.

It’s just the stock triumph exhaust. I’ll eventually change it to maybe the Vance and Hynes one but for now gonna stick to this one.

Welcome to the family. They do drool over black bike here in the asylum. Just wondered you didn't tell the dealer your user name by any chance did you.
    Regards & Ride Safe

Haha no I didn’t. They did an amazing job though. Took care of the issue without hassle.
