Thanks for the welcome, Rob. Hi, I came back to biking in June ‘18 after a near 30 year layoff. 76 now. Bought a Honda 1100ES (Short ass, by the way) and swapped that for a 1300VTX, then replaced that with a Honda 750 Shadow for a few weeks. Next came a Ducati 696 Monster which I swapped in for a Ducati 803 Scrambler. Didn’t seen to be getting on with these bikes for some reason and Wifey beginning to lose patience with me! Was out on Scrambler one day (Couple or 3 weeks ago) and just happened to call in at Youles in Manchester. I sat on a Street Twin and was amazed, I could virtually flat foot it. Nice man said they had a demo. Street Twin with 595 miles on it over at their other shop, so, (Doesn’t take me long to buy a bike) I left the Ducati there and went home in a taxi...Bonneville Street Twin was delivered to my house a few days later. I’ve promised Wifey (Ginny) that I won’t buy another bike, IF I don’t like this one I will give up biking altogether. At 76, needing new knees, new left hip and had chronic lower back pain for over 20 years, oh, and Doc’s just told me I might need a pacemaker, Ffs! I don’t think I’ll need another bike. Anyway, I've done just over 200 miles on my (My last Triumph was a T100 in 1962) nearly new Triumph and I’m loving it. Thanks for having me,Ken.
Welcome Ken, great to see that despite your aches and pains, you’re still persevering with the best hobby around. Enjoy the new bike
Kenbro. Welcome to the family. Good man. Forget those aches and pains get out there and enjoy the bike. In many ways we are all similar in one way or another. The bikes are a way of release. Do drop us all a picture of the steed. Tell Ginny we will try to keep up with you. Regards & Ride Safe. Joe.
Hi Ken, you just needed to find the right bike mate, sounds like you have , you and your Missus will now be happy (well you more than her, obviously!), Welcome to the Forum by the way
Welcome in buddy. There's hope for all us "youngsters" now then. Lol Sounds like you got a good mrs as well as a good bike.
Hi and welcome, that was some list of bikes to get through before getting your triumph. Enjoy the bike and the forum....
Trying to upload picture. If it shows, it will no doubt look like most other black STs. But, this one’s mine. Thanks for all replies. Cheers,Ken.
