Hi anyone know how to adjust the two dials top one gold bottom black ? Is the gold #1 and black #2 as says in manual, any help much appreciated
Hi Dave. Is this your first bike? Have you owned a bike with adjustable suspension? The following link will help inform you of what these adjusters are for. Please don’t go turning the dials without understanding what they do, as this can make the bike unmanageable and potentially unsafe. https://www.ohlins.com/app/uploads/world/documents/2009/06/OM_07446-01.pdf
There's some GENERAL recommendations for the settings (dependant on the use) in the manual for you to set. Obviously as @SteveRS says, don't go bonkers without reading it first as it's a bit of a fine art and you can totally ruin your ride quickly!
Dont be scared Dave, one says compression and the other says rebound. Turn them all the way clockwise then count the clicks as you turn them anti-clockwase. Look in your manual for suggested settings, comfort, road and sport. Easy peasy. Higher number (more clicks anti-clockwise) = softer ride.
Took my bike to get the suspension dialed in, only to discover the previous owner had the spring all the open, found leaks as well as popped seals. Was wondering why the bike was so low and even the smallest bump in road was terrible.
That includes new bikes fresh from the dealers, they're not always bang on the factory settings straight from the factory!
Plus the preload is not set up for most people weights. Initial setup is critical before the first ride.
No it was a 3 owner 6 year old bike, also had the std rear preload setting of too much which I wound all the way of even though the owners manual said it may result in death!
