So done a few hundred miles on the trip and love it however, being used to the no fuss, no dramas, no funny noises from a Fireblade am i right to worry about this noise? at around 2200rpm no matter gear or neutral from the engine it sounds like something not quite seating right or loose timing chain ish. Its a kind of tinky, pinky type noise, goes as soon as revs pick up which makes me think its slack in something? Is this normal for a Triumph? The only noise I ever got on the blade was the exhaust screaming at 12000, so this is all new to me. Thank s in advance.
C’mon Jonni, you’re going to have to tell us what bike, mileage and whereabouts the noise is coming from. We don’t have ESP you know
Speed trip dark R 2018 with 700 miles on it. Sounds like lower down in the engine but difficult to suss when on it. And why haven't you got ESP? What kind of forum is this?? I was expecting it fixed via telepathy before I got home!
Idiot proof guides on here are never enough! I once had a lorry engine (14ltr Cummins E-14 320bhp) that had a slight tinkley rattle at low revs which disappeared over 1500 rpm. Kept telling the boss but after 3 weeks it gave up the ghost by dropping a valve in a most spectacular smokey fashion. I doubt that that has any relevance to your problem. Hope yours is a 'summat and nowt' problem. Or, better still, not a problem at all!
I had a similar(ish) noise that I posted on here a few days ago - it turned out (on my 2002 955i) the chain rubbing strip had disintegrated, so the chain was slapping/rubbing on the top of the swing-arm. I was unable to ascertain what the noise was whilst on the bike with helmet etc on...but the moment i had it on a stand and got it in gear in the garage...it was obvious where the noise was coming from... it could well be a valve...but you never know...it might not.
