we often moan about riding bikes in crap weather or the winter or come back soaked from a wet run but it kinda pales somewhat when you look at these guys doing the Talisker transatlantic rowing race. Two of the lads are from Northumberland so been watching them avidly http://thefouroarsmen.com/ At the time of posting they were leading and due to finish the end of this week. They support two great charities one of which is pretty relevant to our hobby and the other means a lot to me too. There’s another 20 or so hero crews in boats behind them some who won’t be in for a month or so !! Check out the fourth placed boat he’s a single hander ffs ! Have a look and if you like download the race tracker and maybe support the boys or one of the other crew’s good causes
138 miles to go and the Northern lads are 42 miles in the lead and heading for a record crossing time finishing early Saturday morning our time....RESPECT
Hope you saw the lads on BBC news and Sky yesterday, they got in 2am Saturday morning beating the record by 6 days flying the Northumberland flag. Several more have made it including the single handed Dutch lad in fourth place just a day behind bloody amazing. There are plenty still to make it including 3 lasses barely halfway some feat of endurance that !
Fair play to them, That has to be one of the hardest and most dangerous of events to excel in. Well done to them
