got a 04 t100 been good till approx. two to three month ago only does this at low tick over or below 25mph seems lick a jerk action on the left carb some times a bit of mist spits out tried taking air box of to reseal & looked at the carb rubbers for splits any help would be good many thanks
Not been to dealer cant pay that much to start it was intermitant now most of the time, I have had right play airbox rubber not on carb right put that right airbox sealer slight wear cleaned fuel line ooo ripped what bit of hair I have out still bike spits farts & gets on my tits runs brillo otherwise
sound like it might be much in the carb possibly, had similar problem with a t100p took the carbs off cleaned and rebalanced and that sorted it out but i havent work on the modern carbs and the ones i took off were AMAL carbs.
Personally i would remove carbs then strip, clean & rebuild with new jets. Physically & thoroughly check the carb rubbers, vac hose fittings, breathers & air filter seal. Then fill tank with fresh fuel & possibly add some carb cleaner like Redex or similar for good measure. Where exactly is the mist spitting out from? Does it smell of fuel? How do you know its the left side carb?
Another route to explore that will cause spitting back through the carbs at low speed/revs is a lean mixture or engine timing slighty out. Try & richen it up a bit & make sure the timing is bang on.
Many thanks p19 that thought has gone through my head never touched carbs before so still thinking, I had bike stood running when the spitting happens the left carb does a jerk move and the mist looks like its from the airbox seal side, sripped box off resealed that side still jerking so now right gutted.can I ask what you call ac hoses what are they please.
That could be your timing/mixture again I think? (I'm sure someone will say otherwise if not) the jerking could be the ignition in the cylinder blowing back through the carb and into the airbox as the inlet valve isn't shutting quick enough. If it were me I would have the carb off first there fairly easy to strip and clean of you take your time and don't loose anything! Then reset the timing 99% sure that should solve the problem then and you will be back on the road.
Its vac hoses, some carbs in general have a little vac hose on them somewhere. If you are tackling carbs for a first time just make sure you have a clean environment & gradually work through it, laying the bits out in order as they come off. The best bet is to take pictures that way you also have a reference point when it comes to the re-assembly. Any blow back through a carb must be down to incorrect mixture, timing or damaged/poorly seated inlet valve causing air to escape under the inlet valve on the compression stroke.
Yes spankyham mentioned same about timimg so checked inlet & outlet clerence left side inlet out of spec so many thanks guys ordered new shim today
