hi everyone, Hope your all safe and well. My passion is restoring or customising mid 70 jap bikes. I am very fortunate being able to follow these dreams. About 3 years ago I was tempted by a 900 Thunderbird which I bought for a great price as the guy needed to sell quickly. I loved it !. I love my triples, after restoring a mvx250 Honda two stroke triple, a Laverda Jota and several Suzuki triples the Triumph is the one that really got under my skin. Eighteen months ago I sold the Triumph to help towards another car. (Back down to 4 bikes). Then, out of the blue the new owner phoned and asked if I could service the 900 as he was selling it and wanted to know it was right. Long story short.....l bought it back!. My brother recons it not a "real" Triumph. He owns a T140E !. However mines never off the road and has real soul. So....question time. I am new to forums so am still learning how to drive them. I read somewhere that it is cheaper to replace the rear shock using one off a Kawasaki. Does anyone have anymore information on if this is true and if so what model Kawasaki?. Secondly, is it possible to re magnetise the rev counter?, does anyone know of a you tube video showing this?. Hopefully someone will be able to assist. Cheers, Lez
Hi lez and welcome! To be honest, your questions will be answered better if you start a thread/topic in the relevant bike forum. I'm sure someone will know but not everyone reads the "newbies hangout" bit. Good luck!
