Hi. New to triumphs. Street triple 675.are these normally reliable as I've had a few issues since I got her 2 months ago. Leaking front forks. Ticking noise from engine and now just smelt petrol in my oil.

The triples are very reliable but, like all bikes, need maintenance. Yours must be 3+ years old so fork seals surprise me not at all. Your engine noise could well be the cam chain tensioner (it’s automatic) working up to an adjustment point. Petrol in the oil? Unless you are mistaken it suggests worn rings and bores verified by a compression test.

We can’t really diagnose without far more information.......

10 years old bit only 8k on the clock. I check oil weekly but today noticed a smell of petrol. Ticking noise has been there for about two weeks now. Taking it to mechanic tommorow.

Agree with what @Callumity said but, coincidentally, I've got a leaking fork as on my 675 at the moment. The seals have been in there at least six years so nothing too unexpected. I haven't had any issues with oil/petrol and rattly engines. Overall the bike's been very reliable.

.......garage queens under used with dried seals soon crack them. Benign neglect can be as bad as abuse.

Guess that's why I'm having a few issues now . Wont be benign with me. Everyday rider rain or shine with a fortnightly clean

    Hi and welcome in :)

I can't add too much that has not already been said above, other than I have a 12 year old 675 with just over 11k miles. I got mine just over a year ago at which time it had only done just under 9k miles, only covering about 1300 miles in 8 years previously, and the only issue I've had with mine was that it arrived with a leaking rear shock, and a slight coolant leak. Shock was replaced with a nearly new OEM part for £50, and coolant leak was just a jubilee clip that needed a tweek to tighten. Cam chain noise should disappear after 30 seconds or so of starting the bike, when the auto tensioner has done it's thing.
