Hi! This is Dave from Lakewood, CA and I've been riding for a while now after a long break. In 1974, I had a '71 Honda 750 that I modified and rode cross country (New Hampshire to California) and back. I currently have a 2008 Suzuki C90 and a 2014 Moto Guzzi California Touring. My buddy, who rides a BMW 1200RT, and I have been touring mostly in the western states with several long trips each year. I'm currently planning another solo cross country trip and I'm considering another bike for the haul. I've been looking at the Tiger XRX low but I'm not sure if it is suitable for long distance especially sitting on the saddle for 400 - 500 miles at a time. I definitely need storage for the trip and I'm trying to limit riding a heavy bike; the Guzzi is 700+lbs. I'd appreciate any feedback from the forum if the Tiger would be a good choice. Thanks!
Hi mate and welcome. That Honda 750 K1 was a proper superbike back then! As for your question - like dilligaf said, go and test ride one.
Hi & Welcome to the Forum I haven't ridden a motorcycle yet that was comfortable after 300 miles let alone 400-500! I would suggest trying to get a test ride on the Tiger, if you like it then get a gel seat as an extra.
Hi and welcome... If you are looking at those kind of miles per day on the road, I would take a test ride on a Thunderbird LT. It will eat those kind of miles and not leave you with a sore body at the end of the day. It also has good luggage capability’s. Wessa
CrzrDave. Welcome to the family. Only way mate to answer that question is for you to go test ride. And do test it well few hours at least. I could tell you the same as all the owners they are a phenominal bike with rave reviews. They do exactly what it says on the can. Keep us all in the picture and photo if you do buy one. Regards Joe
Good morning Dave and welcome aboard. Best of luck with your decision and ride safe whatever you end up with!
Hello Dave and welcome to the forum I’m currently on my second Tiger 800, well not literally as I type this, and I think they’re Grrrrrrrreat. As suggested at least one test ride is what to do.
Thanks for everyone's input. Looks like it's down to a Tiger XRX or low. Hoping to go on a test ride soon and getting a new bike. Will post an update when this happens.
