    Hi all,

    Newbie to the forum here.

Just ordered a matt black RS with the obligatory shift assist, the hopefully unnecessary for a few months heated grips and the hopefully unnecessary forever alarm.

Had an 09 bug eyed 1050 a few years back (7!) and loved it, but after riding the RS it really has moved on. The biggest difference is the induction roar, followed by the front brake then the electronics and comforts.

Has anyone got a pick of one fitted with the visor? I was almost tempted for £52 but thought I'd wait to see one fitted first.

Also, what is the consensus on the best tail-tidy?

Anyway, due to collect end of next week, I'll stick a pic up then. Can't wait.

Nice to meet you all in advance.

    Chris

    Hello Ellerslie
Well done on going for the new RS, I have the previous incarnation 2016 R
Tail tidy- best is Evotech, better quality and design than R&G
Visor/fly screen - I have the smokey one on my bike, at 6 ft it doesn't make for much of a better ride, for me it is very much the look, it finishes the front of better in my eyes. It may help a bit with the wind, but it is a personal choice

Best of luck with your new beast, don't forget a truly decent disc lock

Hi, do you have a pic of your bike with the screen please?

I'm about the same height but would still hope there's a modicum of extra wind protection. I also think it will look good so just want to double check.

I'll order an evotech tidy then, that's what i thought.

Thanks for the advice and thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I managed to fit my screen by myself, so shouldn't be an issue.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new bike :)

I'm taken with induction roar too - definitely louder than even the 2016 version. I'd vote for the Evotech tail tidy; it fits perfectly and really enhances that rear end. Just remember to remove the rubber OEM part that's sandwiched between the old tail 'untidy' and the subframe...or your indicators will touch the cans.

Congrats on the new RS, moved up from a 2011 model myself, can't believe the difference. Have the screen fitted. It does make a noticeable difference. 20180417_134943.jpg

red thunder - where is that windscreen from? its about the coolest one I've seen for this bike - I like how it just extends the lines rather than covering up the whole original front piece!

Amazing machine Chris! I'm sure you're going to love it! I just got the '16 speed R and still too much snow to ride! (crying in my beer)
