Hello Triumph forum members. I live across the pond in the USA; am retired. A little bit about my motorcycle life over the years: Started in 1966 with a Honda 150 (college), then: Honda 305, Honda 350, 1971 Triumph Tiger 650. Honda 500, Honda 750, quit for 14 years, then Honda Shadow, Harley Davidson Road King (gifted to son-in law who almost had a heart attack), quit for 8 years. Did not have a good experience with the Tiger - oil leaks, sloppy carb, minor oil consumption, Lucas electrical system (here n the US: Lucas - the man who invented darkness), The most annoying was the hard mount of the gas tank to the frame thus amplifying engine sound to your head. Got rid of it after 1 year, spoiled by Hondas. HOWEVER, I loved the Tiger's handling and never forgot how it loved twisties; it loved bending into curves; extremely surefooted. Now I am seriously looking at the 2023 - 2024 Bonneville T120. Been studying the many Youtube videos on the T120. First question: is there one place in this forum dedicated to the new Bonnevilles??? Thanks, RickM46
Welcome Rick! I just also joined this forum, great folks, very kind, supportive and helpful! Great group! I just picked up my 2023 Triumph Bonneville T120 Aegean Blue/White last saturday. LOVE IT! No issues as of yet, but I only have 70 miles on it, but it's super comfy ride, quiet but with just the right amount of that lovely triumph sound. Shifts like a dream and with the twin front discs, whoa! it can break!! I had to put mine on RAIN mode just to tame the throttle until I get used to it. It's a powerful 1200cc twin for sure!
Very cold here in NE Indiana; picked up my T120 Jet Black on Monday; transported it in my pickup truck from JT Triumph in Battle Creek to my home in Indiana; got a lot of looks on I94 and I69. Had to get creative in unloading the bike from my pickup truck; see pic but got it down safely. Went for a ride today (very cold) and was impressed by the beast that lives under the tank; no end to power fit and finish and build quality; did a little bit of wrenching adjusting the brake pedal upward a bit; may do the same to the shift lever. FA, am doing the same thing and riding in Rain mode too; there is a noticeable difference to Road mode. Triumph has come a long way from my 1971 Triumph Tiger; they definitely beat my Hondas.
