Morning all from Sunny Heathfield in Sussex. Yep, another newbie comes online. I am passionate about all bikes and now I've rid myself of the need for speed am quietly retired and fettling my bikes at my own pace. I own 4 and my latest was a surprise birthday treat this year from my wife, bless her. I had been looking for a T'Bird and fallen in love with a green one but daren't ask if I could buy it as she had threatened any more bikes and she would castrate me and then stuff a spanner where it would make riding uncomfortable. She secretly contacted the seller online, bought it and said nothing. I was very annoyed when I looked at it only to see it had sold. Even copious amounts of chilled Guinness in the garage failed to cheer me up. So a few weeks later, she said lets go out for the day, and she had put the postcode into the satnave and said we were going to see an old friend as a birthday surprise. Imagine my excitement when we turned onto the forecourt of the dealer and there was my T'Bird, sparkling in the sun. She had even secretly put all my riding gear in the boot so as to further make my day. I have spent all my life riding starting out in 19770 on a Vespa 150 sportique, then a Lambretta TV 175 and finally onto a Phellon and Moore Panther 250 Villiers 2T twin. It was PGU***E and was the first British built bike to be all electric start. No kickstart for the days the batteries were flat. After that I progressed through various bikes until I left the Royal Navy and became a motorcyclist traffic cop until 2002 when I retired. I then bought bike after bike until last year when i was made redundant and had to retire from working as Police staff and retired here to East Sussex. I've had BSA's, Honda's, Suzuki's, Kawasaki's never a Ducati, Guzzi or Yamaha. I did have an original Norton Commando 750 which I had wanted since 1974 but had this one for less than 24hrs and returned it to the seller. Say no more on that. So that's me in a nutshell. Now I have to add a picture of my T'Bird.
Hi Mate and Welcome to the Forum , nice intro and love the story of the birthday prezzie from the Wife, will have to show mine this post!
Hi guys and thanks for the warm welcome. As my wife and I are from Cornwall, I married her sister as well at the same time (that way I only have to buy 1 anniversary card).
