Hi All, Just getting back into biking and looking at Speed Triple 1050 (2010 ish) Love the look of the bike, but at 6'1" with long legs and less than perfect knees I am slightly cramped up! Has anyone got any experience of lowering the rear set foot pegs? and could recommend a brand? I am hoping it'd make all the difference. Thanks in advance Chris
Chris Baxter. Welcome to the family. Great bike the speedy. There are footrests out there that are adjustable. Perhaps look on eBay. But the speedy you just get it in gear and then it will do anything you want in any gear. You really just need the gears to slow down or stop. Do let us all know how you get on. Have you thought about the America with the forwards. Joe.
Hi Chris and welcome I have a similar issue with most road bikes at 6’ tall and with a 34” inside leg but I have addressed this with higher seats rather than lower footrests (which would surely affect your ground clearance when cornering?). Short of a different bike, have you considered a strap on (sorry, couldn’t resist) in the form of a seat pad? Just as a test to raise you up 1-2 inches.
Thank you for the warm welcome and advice already. Still doing some ebaying research, but will let you know the outcomes. Chris
Hi Chris and welcome to the forum best wishes sourcing your Speed twin. Rear pegs? Here’s some examples from TPP https://www.triumphperformanceparts.com.au/adjustable-rider-footpegs-for-liquid-cooled-triump
Thank you all for the welcome, some great advice, which has given me great confidence. So got some adjustable pegs off ebay, think they'll do the job, the 'strap-on' cushion is a great plan B to add, but for now I'll stick with the pegs and see how it goes. Then at the weekend went to see a Speedy I've had my eye on in Nottingham...It's getting delivered a week today !!!???!! Happy days.
