Hi guys, I am just about to purchase a Tiger 660 Sport. Trading in a BMW GS310 which I am finding too slow. Previous bikes were a Tiger 800 and a Honda VFR 800. That is since I turned 60. In my early days I had a Francis Barnet 250 two stoke followed by a 650 cc Thunderbird. Marriage, work etc got in the way after I tuned 25. Test rode Trident but I was far too big for it, I am 6'2"" tall. Tiger 660 Sport is just the right size. Do most of my riding in the West Coast of Scotland on bright sunny days when we get them. Enjoyed all the other forums I have been on and look forward to getting involved. Bill
Hi and welcome I’ve had my baby tiger 660 for a couple of months now and love it. Just completed an 11 day tour in France covering circa 1600 miles. Bike performed brilliant ❤️
Welcome to the forum. I'm originally from the East Coast but live down here in the south th'now. not quite your age but not far off and a similar stature. West Coast has some nice rides. Was in Skye only last summer, the beauty of Scotland never fails to bring a tear to the eye, especially if there's some pipes and drums.
I'm surprised that a 660 is enough engine for you. I am spoiled by the Sprint GT 1050, and my bride loves the pillion seat! I bought this when I was 57 and am now 61 (first bike I've ever owned). Since living briefly in Hull, we enjoyed the travels to the west coast of Scotland immensely! The scenery and the lochs were unique in my experience. We even saw otters playing in the water! And here in New Jersey, my next door neighbor is from Glasgow! Imagine her surprise when she found out that my name is Rob Roy!
Hi Rob, I’ve owned both the ST 1050 and the Tiger Sport 1050 and yes you are correct the triple is a fantastic motor. However having owned the tiger sport 660 for circa two months and just completed a 1600 trip to France imo the 660 tiger sport provides more than enough performance to keep me happy. Agreed it does not perform like the 1050, but it sure picks up and goes sufficiently quick enough for every day riding.
