Hello forum members Learned to ride on a Yamaha VStar 650 and then once I got my full licence purchased the new Speedmaster a few months ago. Loving it - it has enormous pulling power compared to the Vstar and has a beautiful exhaust note. Handles too well for a cruiser and puts the Harley’s to shame with its sophistication in modern appointments and performance for the price. I have fitted the comfort seats for rider amd pillion, and also the Motone rubber tank pads with the Union Jack emblem on them. The only thing I don’t like are the “beach bars” especially above 80kmh- they sit you too bolt upright on the seat and I don’t like acting like a parachute. So I am having the optional flat bars like the Bobber black fitted next week and seeing if the slightly forward body stance makes it more comfortable. I also modified the rear fender bolt stays slightly to fit my “old”pannier bags from my previous ride ( www. bibblebar.com.au) which seem to have far more volume than the original Triumph ones ( cheaper as well of course) and seem to be able to withstand the wet more than oiled cotton. Im learning about chain oiling and the use of kerosene, grunge brushes and grease ninjas to assist cleaning and oiling the chain. It’s winter unfortunately downunder, but at least we don’t battle with snow and salt in the off season, just rain. I take it out as much as I can get away with amd think it’s a very well developed motorcycle - we’ll done Triumph! Be interested in other Speedmaster owner impressions. Cheers Capcav
